100 Grain Screw-In Field Tips (12-pack)

TL;DRPlain 100-grain steel field tips for 5/16″ arrows with a standard 8-32 thread, 12 to a pack and bullet-shaped for target practice. Check your arrow’s diameter and thread before you buy.

What’s good

  • Standard 8-32 thread
  • Steel with a black zinc, anti-rust finish
  • Listed weight tolerance of ±0.5 grain
  • 12 in a pack

What’s not

  • Fits 5/16″ arrows only
  • Practice points: big-game hunting needs broadheads

You pulled your arrows from the target and one came back without its point, or you’re building arrows and the tips are the last piece. 🤔 For 5/16″ practice arrows, 100-grain screw-in field tips with an 8-32 thread are the usual answer, and this 12-pack is the set I bought.

Check three numbers before you order (diameter, thread and grain weight), and your new points fit snug, keep your arrow spine matched and hit where the old ones did. 👍

The maker, MOLFUJ, lists them as steel with a black zinc finish and an anti-rust treatment, machined to within ±0.5 grain. They’re sold for recurve, compound and crossbow practice arrows.

How to pick field tips that fit your arrows: 3 checks

Match the diameter. A point much wider than your shaft makes the arrow harder to pull from the target; check your arrow’s outside diameter on its maker’s spec sheet.

Match the thread. Screw-in points need an insert in the arrow, and 8-32 is the common size. Easton’s Deep Six inserts are the main exception: they use a finer thread, so 8-32 points won’t fit them.

Match the weight. A heavier point makes an arrow act weaker and changes where it hits, so replace like for like. Here’s how common point weights convert:

Lost arrows and loose points: why a 12-pack helps

I’ve lost many arrows. I tried my best to find them, but that’s just the way it goes. Every lost arrow takes its point with it, so spares save a session.

Screw-in points can also work loose. Check that every tip is snug before you shoot: a loose point can stay behind in the target when you pull the arrow.

Who should buy these field tips

Buy them if your arrows are 5/16″ with 8-32 inserts and tuned for 100 grains. That covers a lot of practice arrows, but not all, so check yours first.

If you hunt, practice with field tips that weigh the same as your broadheads, so your arrows land in the same place.
