About the site
A beginner archery site with straight answers: what to buy, how to shoot and what to skip. You get my pick wherever there’s a choice, the gear I own reviewed from my own shooting, and the mistakes I made so you can skip them.
No. I’m a recreational archer who’s shot a traditional recurve since 2024 (and a former Marine, so I knew rifles long before bows). Where a topic needs a coach or a rulebook, I point you to one.
I do. No ghostwriters. If a guest ever writes something, their name will be on it.
A couple of new posts most weeks. Gear reviews take longer because I score a bow only after 30 days of shooting it.

Gear & reviews
No. Gear I review from my own shooting I bought with my own money. If that ever changes, the review will say so at the top.
Gear I own I shoot for at least 30 days before I score it. Gear I haven’t shot is researched from maker specs and owner reports, and the post says so. Read the editorial standards for the full process.
You can suggest one through the contact page. I can’t promise a review, and I won’t take payment for one.
Yes. If something stops working for me, I update the review and note the date and what changed.

Affiliate links & money
Affiliate links. If you buy through one, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Never. I recommend the same things whether or not there’s a link, and I’ll tell you when a cheaper option is good enough.
No sponsored posts. If I ever add display ads, they will be clearly marked and kept out of the way of the content.

Yes. No paid tier, no upsell sequence.
No. I never sell or share it. You can unsubscribe in one click from any email.

Contact & corrections
Use the contact page or email hello@countrybow.com. I read everything myself.
Thank you. Send it over. I fix errors quickly and add a correction note to the post so readers know what changed.
Short quotes with a link back are fine. For anything longer, or for images, ask me first.
